Have you ever been at a place in your life where you've been waiting on the Lord, waiting on the Lord, and waiting on the Lord...firmly sure and confident that He's going to come through but it's been a while? I have learned through trial and error that though you may have thought differently, He is and always has been your only option. That is exactly where I am in my life today, but I want to share some good news with you. A word that the Lord spoke to me one morning more than a year ago is still applicable today - to me as well as to you. He said, "You're in the home stretch!" That was a sweet melody to my ears and it gave me that spiritual boost I needed to keep standing and keep pressing!
This is an update to this blog since I first wrote it, and I am still in a waiting mode. This may not sound like good news to you, but it absolutely is because during this waiting period the Lord has done many wonderful things in my life, but most importantly He has done some astonishing things in me! During this time my trust in Him has skyrocketed and so has my faith.
During this time I have become a published author and I'm now in the midst of writing my second book. I have even started a blog and was ranked in the top 200 at https://blog.feedspot.com/christian-blogs/. That was one of the things I had been waiting on that has come to pass. When I first wrote this, I was speaking about one thing in particular, but I have a conglomerate of requests before the Lord - dreams He has placed in my heart and the desire to fulfill them. We do not serve a "fly by night" God. He is not unreliable or untrustworthy. For me (and I'm sure for you too) He has placed many dreams in my heart that absolutely cannot come to pass unless He does it. Of course, we have to do our part. We are the hands, feet, and mouth that must be used to get the job done, but the ultimate outcome of the job getting done is in His court, and guess what y'all? In His time! That is where the painful process of waiting comes into play. We serve such a loving and intentional God that it takes us a while to recognize that in our waiting, He is still working. He's pruning us, molding us, developing us, and shaping us. He's taking out that which does not belong and putting in that which will be needed to fulfill the call. While we are under construction we usually can't identify what's going on until sometime later. But it is all so worth it!
Our God is so elaborate and precise in His methods. He might show us what He has for us in the future, but there is no way He is going to give it to us until we are fully ready, prepared, and equipped to fulfill it! That is part of what makes Him so wonderful!
So, remember, waiting on the Lord is not easy! And it's really not easy when you have done all that He instructed you to do and now He says all you have to do is "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord" (2 Chronicles 20:17)! He told me that morning when I first wrote this blog that there was nothing else required of me. My job now was to just believe His promise, continue to speak His Word over my life regarding that promise and be in agreement with what it says, and watch Him bring it to pass. Oh my goodness! I know I'm not the only one who knows how extremely difficult that is! Over this past year it has gotten a lot easier because I had to make a decision. Either I trust Him or I don't. I made the decision to trust Him wholeheartedly.
I'm so far out here on faith now that there is no turning back! All I can see is water all around me. There is no land in my line of vision that I can attempt to swim to. My only option is to trust Him to hold me up or sink. I took the wise choice of option A and it has yielded great dividends - even in my waiting. So my brothers and sisters, if you're out there up to your neck in the Sea of Faith, just continue to stand fast in your position and hang onto Jesus. He said you're in the home stretch; believe Him!!!
