I have been in a place of spiritual growth for these past few months that have really caused me to expand my thinking, believe God on a higher level, and stretch my faith. About a year or so ago the Lord said to me, "I want you to have outlandish faith." I thought He was just making a suggestion. It didn't occur to me that whatever God speaks must come into existence. He has allowed a series of events to occur in my life that are taking me directly to that place of outlandish faith that He spoke over my life. When He said that to me, I said, "Outlandish?" I looked the word up. It means: ridiculous, exceeding proper or reasonable limits or standards.
In walking in this new place of increased awareness and heightened faith, i have been believing God for things on a higher level. In doing so, I have begun to understand what James meant in chapter 1 verse 4 when he said, "Let patience have her perfect work". Going back to verse 3 it says, " because you know that the testing of your faith develops patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." This is a battle in itself. It's hard to be patient waiting on the things of God to manifest, but because you know His Word is true, you have to wait if you want to receive. That's why 1 Timothy 6:12 tells us to fight the good fight of faith.
See, I've figure out something. Or should I say I've had a revelation. We all know that the Word of God is true. We've seen Him at work in our lives over and over again, not to mention what is written for our benefit. Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God. We don't have a problem putting our faith into action, believing God for those things which we ask for in prayer. The problem comes in the waiting. That's why He tells us in Galatians 6:9 not to be weary in well doing because we will reap if we don't give up. This is where many faith battles are lost because people get tired of waiting and simply throw in the towel.
Oh, but this is where patience comes in. Biblical patience is the ability to endure in your believing while you are waiting for the manifestation of your prayer. Patience will undergird your faith if you will allow it to. You stay in the Word, reading those scriptures relevant to what you need to hold you up and you continue to believe and trust God - no matter how hard it gets. This is where your victory comes from! This is what's called fighting the good fight of faith. Because we're fighting to hold onto our belief! That's it in a nutshell.
After believing for what we've asked for for so long and not seeing it come to pass, we get weary and stop believing. When we do that, that's when we lose. You've let go of your faith and you will never see the manifestation because you quit. Well, this time I have made a quality decision to hold on until the end. I am bound and determined to see my prayer answered if I have to wait 100 years to see it. With that kind of attitude I know I won't be waiting very long!
Hold on my brothers and sisters! You can do it. God has put what we need in us to fight the good fight of faith. He wouldn't have told us to if we couldn't because then He'd be an unjust God, and we know better than that. Trust Him, believe Him, and hold on with everything in you. You're going to win!!!
